The Italian company Urso was founded in 1985 and has since become one of the leading manufacturers of luxury writing instruments worldwide. The collections created by Italian artisans can confidently be called writing jewels. Handcrafted and engraved in solid gold and silver, equipped with hard enamel and gemstones, they are luxury in themselves. The pens and ballpoint pens are crafted by master jewelers, so Urso products are both writing instruments and jewelry in design and appearance.
We are pleased to present to you the exclusive pens from the Szavout collection by Urso. Szavout (Hebrew שׁבועות) – (the symbol is engraved on the pen) – the Jewish Feast of Weeks, also called the Feast of Harvest, Pentecost, or Green Festival, celebrated on the 6th day of the month of Sivan – in the diaspora also on the following day. It commemorates the giving of the Torah to Moses on Mount Sinai and falls seven weeks after Passover (hence called Pentecost). The holiday is also associated with ancient agricultural customs. During the festival, synagogues are decorated in green. Some Orthodox Jews spend the entire night studying the Torah (Tikkun Leil Szawuot) to prepare for its reaffirmation. Traditional holiday foods include dairy dishes and special loaves of new grain.
The limited series consists of 50 pieces, in various colors, and is dedicated to the Jewish people's exodus from Egypt after the Ten Commandments were announced on Mount Sinai.
