Misako Azumai is a young, very talented artist who began studying at the Kyoto School of Traditional Art right after high school, learning artistic lacquer techniques. Her graduation work from this school was exhibited at MIA in Italy. After learning Kyo Maki-e techniques under the guidance of master Tadao Kunieda, she began creating works in her distinctive style. Her craftsmanship is highly appreciated for its delicate and feminine style.
