Thanks to the great passion for innovations and technological novelties the brand IWC Schaffhausen has established international recognition. Since 1868 the Swiss watch producers have created haute Horlogerie – works of art which combine precise mechanics and elegant design.
In the year 1868 the watchmaker Florentine Ariosto Jones established the “International Watch Co.” in Schaffhausen, away from watchmaking centres of the French-speaking Switzerland. His plan was to collect American production techniques of qualified craftsmanship.
- And that is exactly what he has found in Schaffhausen – perfect conditions: new factory buildings, machines water-powered by the Rhine river and finally, many centuries of watchmaking traditions.
Today the international brand IWC, which is part of the super premium segment of stylish watches, is devoted for producing highest quality wares in Haute Horlogerie.
More than 1100 workers, including 120 highly qualified watchmakers, are involved in the development,, production and distribution of perfect works of mechanical art. This world-renowned producer of Swiss watches has over 900 sales points around the globe, including over 60 IWC boutiques in cities such as New York, Beijing, Dubai, Hong-Kong, Geneva, Paris and Moscow. Since the year 2000 the company is part of the Swiss group Richemont.
