Description
A part of the Flame Tree series of pocket-sized luxury books. Combining high-quality production with stunning artwork, the covers are printed on foil in five colors, embossed, and then foil-embossed again. They are wonderfully practical: with a back pocket for receipts and scraps, two bookmarks, and a sturdy magnetic side flap. Perfect for personal use, handbags, and make a dazzling gift. This example features one of Hiroshige's breathtaking views of Mount Fuji.
In this image, we see Mount Fuji viewed through the slopes of a small replica of the mountain. These mini-Fuji were quite a common feature, as they allowed the devout but busy to at least approximate the great pilgrimage to Mount Fuji and enjoy some of the same spiritual benefits.
The original titles and a very wide range of authors are a reflection of the Flame Tree Publishing brand.
“The aim… is to wipe the dust of everyday life from our souls” Pablo Picasso.
“Flame Tree Publishing has been dusting off everyday life for over twenty years, creating illustrated books since 1992, art calendars since 1998, and illustrated e-books since 2009. Their extensive list includes powerful and eloquent artists such as Erté and Alphonse Mucha, complemented by extensive licenses in their award-winning calendar line, with Tate, V&A, RSC, RA, and many others.”
Thanks to a wide range of authors, editors, and writers—from Vladimir Ashkenazy, Steve Hackett, John Howe, Sir George Martin, Brian May, Paul du Noyer, Paco Peña, Stanley Sadie—the company strives to create illustrated projects that are affordable, useful, and beautiful. In addition to printed titles, their exceptional selection of practical cookbooks, music, pop culture, and lifestyle books is increasingly available in digital formats. The publisher believes that well-reviewed, thoughtfully curated content should be available in many different formats to meet their readers’ needs.
