Description
St Moritz, the Swiss resort, has been honored with a series of limited-edition pens by the renowned writing instrument manufacturer Montegrappa. The premiere coincides with 2010 St Moritz Arts Masters. These events are a mutual fitting representation: of the town itself and the luxurious atmosphere surrounding fountain pens and rollers.
St. Moritz is unlike any other resort, symbolizing everything that should be on a Swiss postcard: elegance and sophistication, exclusivity, yet warmth and openness. It is wonderful that the influence St Moritz has on global awareness, since it first welcomed skiers nearly 150 years ago, has grown enough to become a film and literary destination for luxury getaways.
As early as 1934, Alfred Hitchcock shot the opening scenes of the film “The Man Who Knew Too Much” in this city. It also served as a beautiful backdrop for the film, exactly 30 years later, in the James Bond series: “Goldfinger,” as well as for “For Your Eyes Only” in 1981. The most romantic musician, Peter Sarstedt, mentioned St Moritz among the elite places in his timeless song “Where Do You Go To My Lovely.” Mentioning it alone exudes haute monde sophistication.
However, St Moritz offers much more than skiing, golf, and other recreational activities. Every year, the city hosts art exhibitions, renowned shows, seminars, walks, and other attractions. The 2010 St Moritz Arts Masters is an event taking place for the third time, from August 27 to September 5. An assembly of artists, collectors, experts, and critics— a rare opportunity to publicly enjoy art in all its aspects.
This event’s presentation will be an excellent form of promotion for Montegrappa and the famous town, showcasing their exclusivity. An artist can use the tool—a pen—to depict a work of art enhanced by a visual representation of St Moritz. To decorate the bodies, Montegrappa’s designer chose three historic posters to illustrate the wide range of attractions in St Moritz. Each image is hand-painted by artist Lorena Straffi. The ballpoint pens are made from celluloid—an expensive material derived from cotton fiber combined with natural dyes and mother-of-pearl, then decorated with sterling silver. In this limited edition, 300 ballpoint pens made from red-colored celluloid and sterling silver have been produced.
Gifts are an important aspect of business meetings and building a well-managed company.
