iMuranesi is an artistic project born in the mind of Giampaolo Barbiní. He brought with him the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, connected with Murano glassmaking.
The iMuranesi models are unique thanks to the combination of several equally important elements. It’s the beauty of craftsmanship, the use of modern techniques, elegant and contemporary design, and a strong bond between top designers and glass artisans.
iMuranesi is currently a popular international company that combines modernity with the traditional values of Murano glass.
The Barbiní family is one of the respected medieval lineages. These glassmakers established their presence on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, on the orders of the Consiglio dei Dieci, the Barbiní family was inscribed in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, their family crest was granted at that time – depicting two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star above their heads on a blue background – which can still be viewed at the Murano Glass Museum.
