This high-quality weapon is a ceremonial sword. BALP supplies this model to the Corps of Mining Engineers.
The Balp brand was established in 1830, in homage to the most beautiful French weapon forges. Its reputation and top-quality craftsmanship spread throughout France and beyond. Later, successive generations aimed to uphold the tradition and know-how.

All BALP sabers, swords, and daggers are hand-forged, following traditional knowledge passed down through generations. A quality guarantee, reinforced by the passion of highly skilled master smiths.
The manufactory supplies models for the navy, defense ministries, interior ministries, as well as for senior officers of military academies such as the National Officer School of Gendarmerie, Coëtquidan schools (Saint Cyr, EMIA...), but also for schools, ministries, regiments, and military centers in many countries.

Acid engraving with historical motifs and decorations, so deep that you can feel it with your fingernail. Blade length approx. 810 mm. Guard: hand-polished brass, 24-carat gold-plated, with precise carvings. The keypad is engraved with the coat of arms of the Republic surrounded by the words Corps des Ingénieurs des Mines. Stainless Steel: The main advantage of using stainless steel is, as the name suggests, protection against oxidation. Unlike carbon steel, stainless steel does not require surface treatment to protect against oxidation. All our blades are traditionally forged and hardened. The use of sabers and swords as parade weapons no longer justifies the use of carbon steels, which shorten the life of the blades. 24K Gold Plating: Gold plating is considered the best finish available and provides additional added value. Gold plating is a durable and non-corrosive finish, therefore it protects very well against oxidation. We use electrolytic baths, which allow us to obtain 24-carat gold plating (approximately 99.3 to 99.7% gold). Gold plating is also very resistant to fading over time. |
