In June 2004, in London, Laban received an award at the prestigious Coveter Lewis & Clarke competition, which was attended by over 75 pen and writing instrument manufacturers. Finalists included Montblanc, Omas, Namiki, and Laban. It is worth mentioning that winners of the Coveter Lewis & Clarke award are rarely companies outside the European continent.
