In 1989, the founder of Scatola del Tempo, at the beginning of his new venture, decided to evolve the case he created to store his watches by producing a small series of watch winders for himself and his friends. His goal: to simulate natural movements to care for the watches and keep them set to the correct time. As a great collector of Patek Philippe watches, in 1990 he presented his invention to the famous watchmaking house, which, after a year of testing, decided to order 500 watch winders. Thanks to this collaboration, Scatola del Tempo quickly became known to collectors worldwide.

In the production cycle, everything begins with designing the internal shapes and sizes to fit almost all currently available watch styles, ensuring safe storage and transport. Each form is first covered with cushioning material and then genuine calfskin. This operation is delicate and performed by hand with years of experience. Other details, such as clasps and zippers, are also crafted in exclusive designs and finished with a palladium coating to ensure durability in use and wear.

Thanks to the high-performance mechanisms 100% produced in Switzerland, the watch winders are completely autonomous for three years. They only require two simple 1.5 V alkaline batteries to operate. The watch holders are kept in place by a locking system. The watch automatically sets itself vertically when the winder is stopped.
