Description
Parmesan is a type of rennet cheese originating from northern Italy. Although it is hard, the Saladini knife will certainly make slicing it easier.
Coltelleri Saladini manufactures kitchen knives with forged blades. Each blade features an engraved manufacturer’s logo—proof of authenticity and a quality guarantee. The marking is done during the craft process, before the blade is hardened.
Saladini is very selective in choosing steel—mainly high-quality hardened stainless steel with high or 100% carbon content.
The blades are produced using two main processes: quenching and forging.
Quenching is used to create knife blades, cigar cutters, and certain lines of table knives. These blades are cut from steel sheets, with thickness depending on the intended use of the knife.
The complex manufacturing process involves forging blades with a hammer and anvil, which are used for kitchen, table, and collector’s knives. Hand forging allows for shaping the blades, handles, and bolsters, which are then fitted into the handle.
After tempering, both types of blades undergo heat treatment involving hardening and annealing, which, depending on the steel composition, determines the proper hardness for an optimal cutting edge.
♦Saladini respects its heritage while continuously improving its products—making them increasingly innovative.
Saladini’s tradition dates back to the 15th century when the first “Master Knifemakers” published its statutes. These included goals for the protection and the process plan for the production and trade of knives. Since then, generations of producers have followed in the footsteps of their ancestors, creating products driven by passion and tradition.
The company’s expertise is rooted in centuries of tradition. It is based in the Italian town of Scarperia. The literal meaning of the name is “city of knives.” It is here that the ancient talent for knife craftsmanship has been preserved since antiquity. This craft has been regarded as an ancient form of art.
Alongside their traditional knife series, Saladini offers a wide range of kitchen knives, tableware, cutlery, as well as corkscrews and cigar cutters. Each product is crafted with great care, paying attention to every detail.
It will definitely be an amazing gift!
