We present to you a knife that easily fits into your pocket or travel bag — it doesn't take up much space but can be extremely useful on camping trips or other expeditions!

The Italian manufacturer Coltelleri Saladini specializes in handcrafted accessories and kitchen knives with forged blades. Each product bears the engraved logo of the manufacturer, which serves as a mark of authenticity and a guarantee of quality.

The marking is applied during the craft process, when the blade is not yet hardened.

Saladini is very selective in choosing steel — mainly using hardened stainless steel with high or 100% carbon content.

For manufacturing Saladini blades, two processes are used: rolling and forging.

The rolled method is used to create knife blades, cigar cutter heads, and some lines of table knives. These blades are cut from steel sheets, with thickness depending on the intended use of the knife.

The most complex process involves forging blades with a hammer and anvil, used for kitchen and table knives as well as collector’s items. Hand forging allows for creating precise blade shapes, handles, and bolsters, which are then assembled into the handle.

After tempering, both types of blades are hardened and annealed during heat treatment, which, depending on the steel composition, determines the proper hardness for an optimal cutting edge.

Saladini’s tradition dates back to the 15th century — the first statute was published by “Master Knifemakers”. It outlined the goals of protection and the process of knife production and trade. Since then, manufacturers have followed in the footsteps of their ancestors, creating products driven by the same passion and tradition.
