The particularly distinctive feature is the solid dial, specially milled for the watch, with the mechanism giving the impression of floating inside, surrounded by a glass cube. The design depicts Earth's orbit around the Sun once a year, with Earth rotating around its axis once every 24 hours. At the same time, the Moon orbits Earth once every 29 and a half days, rotating once on its own axis, making the various phases of the Moon visible from Earth.
