The inspiration for creating this beautiful set made of bronze and silver was the several-century period during which the process of unifying the countries of the Apennine Peninsula under the Kingdom of Sardinia took place. National liberation movements and the strong desire to unite Italy are also reflected in art. Patriotic works were composed by Giuseppe Verdi. After the premiere of Nabuchodonozor, he was named the national composer. Risorgimento means "Unification of Italy".
