LEATHER

Their leather is handpicked, tough, and durable full-grain cowhide, which is beautiful, long-lasting, and tanned using a traditional and natural vegetable tanning process. Full-grain leather is considered the strongest and most durable type of leather. It is designed to be moisture-resistant and to look more beautiful over time. Jekyll and Hide adhere to principles and practices that require respect for animals and the environment, allowing for the production of original leather collections. Therefore, no harmful chemicals are used in the tanning process.

Sustainability is in their DNA. So, when they considered how to contribute to the future of our planet, they looked inward and decided to apply their internal ethos to a sustainable vision. Most of their products are prestigious leather goods. That won't change, but today they are more focused on how to do it differently.

RECYCLED MATERIALS

In line with their sustainability declaration, the brand has begun the process of replacing all their fabrics with 100% recycled material sourced from used plastic bottles. So far, they have recycled and removed over 95,000 used plastic bottles from landfills and oceans.

SPEKBOOM PROJECT

The company has teamed up with a dynamic local nursery to help and offset their carbon footprint by growing and maintaining Spekboom. This proud South African wonder plant is one of the most effective plants in the world at removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. For this project, Jekyll has secured its own hectare of land and plans to grow around 6,000 plants in 2020.
