In 1897, Mucha created this popular decorative panel, a variation of the original graphic commissioned by Champenois for a calendar titled “Dream”. Gazing at the viewer, a young woman sits with an open book on her lap, dressed in a flowing gown with voluminous Byzantine-style sleeves. Such a charming illustration embodies Le Style Mucha.
