The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, is a world-renowned centre of botanical and mycological knowledge. Kew hosts a gallery dedicated to the works of the extraordinary Victorian artist Marianne North, who had a keen eye for botanical detail. She set out in 1871 to paint the progress of the world's flora. She arrived in Brazil in 1872 and stayed until September 1873.
