iMuranesi is an exceptional venture by Giampaolo Barbiní. This man brought with him the heritage of one of the most distinguished Venetian glassmaking families.
Products of this brand are unique thanks to the combination of several equally important elements. These include the beauty of finish, the use of modern manufacturing methods, tasteful and contemporary design, and a strong connection between top designers and glass artisans.
iMuranesi is a popular international brand that combines contemporary creativity with traditional glassmaking values.
Behind this modern project, however, lies experience dating back to medieval times, when the authorities of the Venetian Republic decided to concentrate all artisans in one place. To this day, its name is known worldwide, and the products originating from there delight crowds.
The Barbiní family is one of the respected medieval lineages. As one of the few, they left their mark on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, by decree of the Council of Ten, the Barbiní clan was inscribed in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, a list of the most distinguished glassmakers.
The family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be admired at the Murano Glass Museum.
