iMuranesi is an exceptional venture by Giampaolo Barbin. This man brought the heritage of one of the most distinguished Venetian glassmaking families into the project.
Products of this brand are unique due to the combination of several equally important elements. These include exquisite finishing, the use of modern manufacturing methods, stylish and contemporary design, and a strong connection between top designers and glass artisans.
iMuranesi is a popular international brand that combines contemporary creativity with traditional glassmaking values.
Behind this modern design, however, lies experience dating back to medieval times, when the authorities of the Venetian Republic decided to concentrate all artisans in one place. To this day, its name is known worldwide, and the products originating from there delight crowds.
The Barbin family is one of the respected medieval lineages. They were among the few to leave their mark on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, by decree of the Consiglio dei Dieci council, the Barbin clan was inscribed in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, a list of the most distinguished glassmakers.
At that time, the family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be admired at the Murano Glass Museum.
