Description

Beautiful Ceramiche ML items are handcrafted and decorated with respect for tradition and working principles that are primarily artisanal. Plaster molds filled with liquid clay, manual assembly, hand-painting: this production process and know-how have been passed down through generations, with roots reaching back to past centuries. This is what creates a true multi-generational workshop, producing more than just prestigious products. Because these are functional art pieces made of ceramics. Dedicated to all connoisseurs and lovers of stylish interior accessories.

Ceramiche ML Brand Concept

Vehicles inspired by the Baroque era, rich ancient Greek temples, soup bowls, tables, panels, Art Deco-style figures, and Roman chariots: all these items are part of the extensive Ceramiche ML collection, which is a fundamental hallmark. This is the result of continuous investment in their artisanal and cultural heritage. They were created over fifty years ago by model makers who are no longer with us: the goal is to preserve items of priceless historical and artistic value. Because this heritage is a testament to traditional craftsmanship! Exclusive ceramics have always been highly popular among the most discerning consumers worldwide.

Some history

Both founders, Luciano and Marilena Tellatin, started their careers in the pottery industry at the age of sixteen and decided to establish their own company after years working as employees in two different antique factories. In a garage at their home, and later in a shed, in 1982, the founders created a story that continues to this day. Deep passion and dedication are the elements through which the founders lead the company, supported by young entrepreneurship, namely their son Alberto. He joined the family business in 2000 after earning a teaching degree from the Art Institute of Nove: representing the future of a brand that still has much to offer clients and partners.

With over 30 years of experience, elegant collections, harmonious forms, respect for craftsmanship—primarily traditional and ancient craftsmanship—and endless investment in the artisanal heritage of antique Nove forms, these qualities have made Ceramiche ML an exceptionally unique, dynamic company that respects ancient pottery traditions while enthusiastically embracing the future.

The town where everything takes place is located in the province of Vicenza. This place has been recognized as one of the best examples of Italian ceramic tradition since the 16th century: a land enriched with artisanal knowledge, artists, sculptors, and ancient factories known worldwide. The Nove and Bassano regions are full of old workshops whose work contributed to building the fame of the ceramics district, decorating homes’ furniture around the world.

The history of this place tells of a long tradition rooted in the 17th century, and its fortune is due to several factors: the presence of underground plastic clay, "lottame" (a limestone rich in mineral silica), kaolin, and the ability to use the Brenta River for transporting finished products and wood for kilns, as well as to power water mills used for mixing clay and grinding stones at the riverbed.

An additional factor fostering the creation of a prestigious ceramic tradition in this region was the Venetian Senate decree. In fact, in the 17th century, the growing and increasingly widespread demand for fine ceramics in China prompted Dutch ceramists to imitate these works, flooding the Venice market with their products. As a result, in 1728, the Venetian Senate decided to increase domestic production through tax incentives for those producing porcelain and improving majolica production, thus managing the birth of the ceramic district in Nove.

The production area of the district still focuses on the municipalities of Nove and Bassano, surrounded by a dense network of companies that have contributed to the region’s worldwide reputation for excellence and uniqueness—qualities that cannot be found elsewhere in Italy.
