Napoleon's invasion of Russia ended in his defeat of the Great Army of the famous commander.  The Emperor misjudged his capabilities in the Russian terrain and climate. The defeats he suffered could not outweigh his victories at Lützen or Dresden. Another coalition managed to assemble armies so large that he could no longer face them at Leipzig.
