The iconic companies Montegrappa and Alfa Romeo embody values that define the Italian soul, tradition, and innovation. Another almost transcendental quality uniting them is their commitment to ensuring their creations possess elegance, with form respecting function. The date on which Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili was founded—June 24, 1910—is reflected in the number of pens created in a limited edition by two legendary Italians. Montegrappa has been producing top-quality fountain pens and writing instruments in the same factory since 1912, which was chosen to produce a centennialpen for Alfa Romeo.
The first outcome of this new collaboration between these companies is an elegant line of pens embodying the essence of Alfa Romeo's history and prestige. The collection was brought to life by master craftsmen from Bassano. On this special anniversary, it features twelve different writing items (three versions of pens, ballpoint pens, rollerballs, and mechanical pencils) to celebrate and honor the magnificent car, in which every design detail has been carefully considered. The date when Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili was founded—June 24, 1910—refers to the number of pens produced in this limited edition.
In the above model, traditional celluloid is used in the cap, while the material used in the body is GOLD. The choice of materials demonstrates an ideal bridge between the past and the present. The exquisite artistic design, engraved with a unique low-relief technique on the body in silver and gold versions, is inspired by stylistic elements reminiscent of the Alfa Romeo logo. This logo also appears as a sculpture on the top of the cap, while the classic four-leaf clover of Alfa Romeo is engraved on the 18-karat gold nib. The feed is made of ebonite, proving that even parts hidden from the human eye are exclusive and crafted with the utmost attention to detail.
