iMuranesi is a unique venture born from the mind of Giampaolo Barbiní. This man brought to it the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, associated with Murano glassmaking.

The Barbinich family is one of the respected medieval lineages. These glassmakers have left their mark on the island of Murano since the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by order of the Consiglio dei Dieci council, the Barbinich clan was included in the Golden Book of Notable Murano Society, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be seen today in the Glass Museum on Murano island.
