iMuranesi is a unique venture born in the mind of Giampaolo Barbiní. This man brought to it the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, associated with Murano glassmaking.

The Barbiní family is one of the respected medieval lineages. These glassmakers left their mark on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by order of the Council of Ten, the Barbiní clan was inscribed in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be seen today at the Glass Museum on Murano island.
