iMuranesi is a unique venture born in the mind of Giampaolo Barbiní. This man brought with him the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, associated with Murano glassmaking.
iMuranesi products are one of a kind thanks to the synergy of many equally important elements. These include exquisite craftsmanship, innovative techniques, sophisticated and bold design, and a strong connection between top designers and glass artisans.
iMuranesi is now a popular international company that combines modernity with traditional Murano glassmaking values.
The Barbiní family is one of the respected medieval lineages. These glassmakers have left their mark on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by order of the Council of Ten, the Barbiní family was inscribed in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men facing each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be seen today at the Glass Museum on Murano island.
