It all started with the initiative and enthusiasm of a young artisan by the name of Angelo Schiavon who, in 1944 at the age of thirteen, began his apprenticeship with silversmiths and artisans specialized in copper hammering. Such was his passion forsilversmithing as to decide to dedicate himself totally to the creation of objects made of silver.
Angelo Schiavon was endowed with an eclectic, creative personality, very determined and strong-willed – his work colleagues had to admit they never managed to finish a job neither before nor better than he did – and therefore in 1957 he decided to set up his own silversmith’s workshop in a small storeroom located in the town of Treviso, not far from Venice.
With his creative flair and artisan skills he was able to fashion objects that became increasingly successful despite the fact they were initially sold exclusively to specialized antiquarian dealers and local retailers.
