This high-quality white weapon is a ceremonial saber by the French brand BALP, used in the Naval Schools of France. An official and authentic model, delivered to the French Navy.
Balp manufactory was established in 1830, in homage to the most beautiful French arms smithies. Its reputation and top quality of production have spread throughout France and beyond. Subsequent generations have aimed to uphold the tradition and know-how.
Therefore, we are pleased and honored to present the BALP company, which remains a benchmark for quality. Their team’s experience, rooted in four generations of smithing tradition, guarantees true expertise in their products. The development of the BALP brand is also part of a changing world, where know-how from different countries has been combined to offer ceremonial equipment that meets the needs of major armies.
The development of all sabers and swords is based on original models. The manufactory aims to stand out by returning to traditions consistent with works from the era. That is why they want to showcase sabers and swords worthy of history.
All BALP sabers, swords, and daggers are hand-forged, following traditional knowledge passed down through generations. A quality guarantee, reinforced by the passion of highly skilled smith masters.
The manufactory supplies models to the navy, defense ministries, interior ministries, as well as to senior officers of military academies such as the National Officer School of Gendarmerie, Coëtquidan schools (Saint Cyr, EMIA...), but also to schools, ministries, regiments, and military centers in many countries.

Stainless Steel: The main advantage of using stainless steel is, as the name suggests, protection against oxidation. Unlike carbon steel, stainless steel does not require surface treatment to protect against oxidation. All our blades are traditionally forged and hardened. The use of sabers and swords as parade weapons no longer justifies the use of carbon steels, which shorten the life of the blades. 24K Gold Plating: Gold plating is considered the best finish available and provides additional added value. Gold plating is a durable and non-corrosive finish, therefore it protects very well against oxidation. We use electrolytic baths, which allow us to obtain 24-carat gold plating (approximately 99.3 to 99.7% gold). Gold plating is also very resistant to fading over time. |
