Manufactory Coltelleri Saladini creates kitchen knives with forged blades. Each product features an engraved logo of the manufacturer, serving as a mark of authenticity and a guarantee of quality.

Marking is performed during the craft process, before the blade is hardened.

Saladini is very selective in choosing steel – mainly using hardened stainless steel with high or 100% carbon content.

For creating blades, Saladini uses two processes: rolling and forging.

The rolling method is used to produce knife blades, cigar cutters, and certain lines of table knives. These blades are cut from steel sheets, with thickness depending on the intended use of the knife.

The most complex manufacturing process involves blades forged with hammer and anvil, used for kitchen, table, and collector’s knives. Hand forging allows for shaping the blades, handles, and bolsters, which are then assembled into the handle.

After tempering, both types of blades are hardened and annealed during heat treatment, which, depending on the steel composition, determines the proper hardness for an optimal cutting edge.

The company has gained experience through centuries of tradition. It is based in the Italian town of Scarperia.
