iMuranesi is an extraordinary project born in the mind of Giampaolo Barbini. This man brought with him the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, associated with glassmaking.
Models from this brand are unique thanks to the synergy of many equally important elements. These include harmony of detail, the use of innovative techniques, refined and modern design, and a strong connection between top designers and glassmakers.
iMuranesi is currently a popular international company that combines modernity with the traditional values of Venetian glass production.
Behind this modern model, however, lies centuries of experience, dating back to when the authorities of Venice decided to concentrate all glass artisans in one place. To this day, the name of this place is known worldwide, and the products originating from there are breathtaking.
The Barbini family is one of the distinguished medieval families. These glassmakers have been present on the island of Murano since the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by order of the Council of Ten, the Barbini clan was included in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most renowned glassmakers.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded sages looking at each other with a star above their heads on a blue background – which can still be seen today in the Murano Glass Museum.
