In June 2004, in London, Laban received an award at the prestigious Coveter Lewis & Clarke competition, which was participated in by over 75 pen and writing instrument manufacturers. Finalists included Montblanc, Omas, Namiki, and Laban. It is worth mentioning that winners of the Coveter Lewis & Clarke award are very rarely companies outside the European continent.
