Description
The Hood Desk is inspired by the iconic skyscraper located in New York City – the American Radiator Building. The black and gold building was constructed in the 1920s by the renowned architect Raymond Hood.
The modern Hood desk features a black lacquered wooden structure, perfectly finished with a high-gloss lacquer, providing a workspace – as well as a front for the drawers – smoothly upholstered with genuine leather, transforming any living room into a stylish interior. The interiors of the drawers are lined with luxurious black velvet.
Refined black structure is complemented by elegant and dazzling polished brass legs, whose shape brings the entire charm of the Art Deco era into your personal space. The Hood Desk is part of the World Architects collection.
Malabar manufactory was established in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the elegant World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory collections.
Malabar has made its mark at the most prestigious international fairs such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing.
Malabar’s design originates from Porto, in northern Portugal, a region with a long and strong tradition of handcrafted products.
The identity of this luxury brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.
International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that define such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted execution, and space-inspired design create an explosive mix of elegant furniture.
The various techniques used in creating products from natural wood produce incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colors.
Vivid and bold colors dominate, significantly diverging from classic and stereotypical furniture.
Besides wood, the manufactory uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.
The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in the daring furniture designs.
The company's name comes from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a bold maritime route.
This remains true today, as Malabar continues to set highly individual boundaries in design and evokes strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, daring, and extremely luxurious.
And these are exactly the kinds of products we love and bring to the My Luxury Products platform.
