Description
The cap features the friend of Virgil and Dante before entering the door, where there is an inscription in Italian: “Lasciate ogni speranza voi ch' entrate” (English): “Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.” This is the first famous line from the Divine Comedy, and on the edge of the cap, there is the final line when they exit hell and return to earth (Italian): “E quindi uscimmo a riveder le stele” (English): “And thence we emerged to see the stars again.”
The body, characterized by a conical shape, displays the nine circles of hell supporting Lucifer at the bottom, who also functions as a pen holder.
