One of the decisive reasons for this decision was to enable continuation of traditional crystal trade. Heinrich established a glass processing manufactory in 1947.
The small family business gradually expanded, while glass production was slowly replaced by leaded glassware.
Leaded glass is a type of crystal with a lead oxide additive. It has an extremely characteristic shine.
