"Blackness" is a series of black and white paintings on old music notes and pages from old books.

This series is connecting things which I like the most: music and books, old, dark, dirty things that have soul and history behind and the color black, which is the most powerful color in my opinion.

The philosophy of this collection is to give a second life to these old music notes and pages from old books. I don’t want to let them stay forgotten. Because nothing should stay forgotten.

During the work on this series I’ve tried to imagine people who touched these pages, who played the music, who loved, who smiled, who cried, who lived!

I was trying to imagine who they were, what they did in life or if they were happy.

The black and white or grey marks are like pieces of my soul that will stick forever with their story.

Honestly, this series is very close to my heart compared to the others because when I see those paintings I feel a whole bunch of different emotions and feelings.

It’s quite hard to find and buy these old music notes so it’s quite a challenge but thanks to this, the paintings are more precious and more unique.
