The philosophy of Berti Knives, a manufacturer of exclusive knives for various purposes, is quite different. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small workshop seems to remain completely detached from the trends that have emerged worldwide over the years. Its core principle is a commitment to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The founders firmly reject the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of the identity of the knives produced. For this reason, their company's philosophy places special emphasis on the employed staff. However, this Italian family is not closed to changes. They are very welcome, provided that they bring elements consistent with the existing philosophy and can withstand years of quality testing.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized sections of craftsmen, but are often carried out from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The highest quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, while handles are made from materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, or 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that their products, although intended for everyday use, be treated with proper respect, which guarantees their durability for many years. Each one is, after all, a small, unique artifact.
