The philosophy of Berti Knives, a brand that produces exceptional knives for various purposes, differs from this approach. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small manufacturer seems to be entirely independent of the trends that have occurred worldwide over the years of its operation. Its most important value is fidelity to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The founders of the brand strongly oppose the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of their knives. For this reason, their company's philosophy places special emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to any innovations. They are very welcome, provided they do not conflict with the existing philosophy and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized sections of workers, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, and handles are made among others from bison, buffalo, deer horns, or 'bosso' wood.
