The philosophy of Berti Knives, a brand producing exceptional knives for various uses, differs from this approach. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small manufactory appears to be entirely independent of the trends that have influenced the industry over the years. Their most important value is fidelity to tradition, which is now maintained by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The founders strongly oppose mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of their knives. For this reason, their company's philosophy places special emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that the Italian family is closed to innovation. Innovations are very welcome, provided they do not conflict with the existing philosophy and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife manufacturing are not handled by specialized sections of workers, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, and handles are made, among others, from bison, buffalo, deer horns, or 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that, despite being designed for everyday use, their knives should be treated with proper respect, which guarantees their longevity. Each one is a small, unique work of art.
