In complete opposition to this situation is the philosophy of Berti Knives, which produces exceptional knives for various uses. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small manufactory seems entirely detached from the trends that have dominated the world throughout its history. Its core value is a commitment to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The founders firmly reject the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the products offered. For this reason, their company's philosophy places a special emphasis on the employed staff. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to any innovations. They are very welcome, provided they do not conflict with the existing philosophy and can withstand years of quality testing.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife creation are not handled by specialized groups of workers but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, while handles are made from bison, buffalo, deer horns, as well as 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that, despite being designed for everyday use, their knives should be treated with proper respect, which guarantees their durability for many years. Each one is, after all, a small, unique artifact.
