The times we live in are marked by increased consumption. As a result, the objects we use every day hold no value for us other than functional. Over the years, we often neglect them, replacing them with newer models.
The philosophy of Berti Knives, a manufacturer of exclusive knives for various purposes, is quite different. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small workshop appears to be completely autonomous from the trends that have emerged worldwide over the years of its operation. Its core value is a commitment to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The owners strongly oppose the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the offered products. Therefore, their company's philosophy places a special emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this Italian family is not closed to change. Changes are very welcome, provided they introduce elements that do not conflict with the current vision and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized sections of craftsmen, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, while handles are made from materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, and 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that, despite being designed for everyday use, their knives should be treated with proper respect, which guarantees their durability for many years. Each one is a small, unique work of art.
