This is an artistic project born from the imagination of Giampaolo Barbiní. He brought to it the heritage of one of the most distinguished Venetian families, associated with Murano glassmaking.
The iMuranesi models are unique thanks to the synergy of several equally important elements. These include exquisite finishing, the use of innovative manufacturing methods, tasteful and bold design, and a strong connection between top designers and glass artisans.
iMuranesi is currently a popular international brand that combines modernity with the traditional values of Murano glass production.
The Barbiní family is one of the respected medieval lineages. These glassmakers established their presence on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by order of the Council of Ten (Consiglio dei Dieci), the Barbiní family was recorded in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, the family coat of arms was granted at that time – depicting two bearded sages looking at each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be seen at the Murano Glass Museum.
