An elegant desk set for the President - Prof

The Sophie desk set consists of five elements: a tray, a pen holder, a miscellaneous item holder, a visitor's book stand, and a single flower vase.

Each piece is unique and handcrafted entirely from glazed terracotta with a mono and two-tone matte finish. Slight variations in shape, color, and size should be regarded as a value and guarantee of craftsmanship.

Prof Office was founded in 1995 from experience in the furniture industry, rooted in a family industrial background that designs elegant office furniture systems deeply embedded in the northeastern Italian furniture district. Over these twenty years, the company's economic growth and development path have enabled it to look at the international market, contributing to the dissemination of Italian design and the highest quality worldwide. By consulting with architects and designers, Prof has strengthened its identity and expanded its product range.
Starting with designer execution collections, it then developed operational systems, reception solutions, conference rooms, and partition walls. Today, this allows offering holistic and tailored furnishing solutions for every workspace.

HEADQUARTERS

The headquarters of Prof, along with the plant and offices, is located in Falzè di Piave, in the Treviso province, 70 kilometers north of Venice, in one of Europe's most important furniture industrial districts. It covers a total area of approximately 8,700 sqm, of which 3,600 sqm are covered. The facility, specializing in the production of office furniture, is equipped for woodworking, assembly, packaging, warehousing, and shipping of finished products. The main headquarters houses executive, commercial, technical, and administrative offices, conference rooms for client meetings, and a showroom of over 400 sqm that displays all collections of exclusive office furniture. In 2017, an expansion of over 1,800 sqm was completed, including 640 sqm for production, 330 sqm for new offices, and 830 sqm for a new showroom.

PRODUCTION

The company manufactures exclusively at the Falzè di Piave plant in Treviso province and always bases its identity on the utmost respect for people, the land, and materials. Strong local roots and innate "know-how," which has evolved also thanks to new technologies, have allowed Prof to confirm and solidify its success by continuously blending tradition and innovation, adapting to new socio-economic changes. Prof's production organization is focused on "just in time," enabling reliability, inventory reduction, and increased quality and customer service. The entire Prof network operates mainly within Italy, in the local production district where most raw material and semi-finished product suppliers are located. All products are fully designed and made in Italy to ensure a standard of consistent excellence.

DESIGN

At Prof's factory, every piece of furniture results from an understanding of the changing dynamics of workplaces. Research has always been a strategic element of the company's development policy, expressed through an internal Design Department working closely with external designers and continuously updated with technological and legislative developments. Prof models are entirely designed and manufactured in Italy, fully compliant with European safety and hygiene standards. For this reason, Prof collections stand out for their high design, ergonomics, and functionality.

Prof provides comprehensive design and consulting services, including analysis of client requirements, layout studies with targeted and personalized furnishing proposals, along with technical drawings and renderings.

POST-WARRANTY SERVICE

Thanks to the UNI EN ISO 9001: 2008 certification system for managing non-compliant products and claims, the Professor maintains constant control over issues encountered during assembly and use. The company provides technical support and after-sales services along with full information, modifications, and repairs.

BESPOKE PRODUCTS

The Professor’s high production flexibility allows, in addition to series production, the realization of custom-defined projects tailored to specific client needs. The Design Department can support clients or designers in developing and producing unique products, both functional and aesthetic, with fully personalized finishes.
Careful advice at every stage: a targeted design, with meticulous material selection and attention to detail, culminating in the construction, step by step, up to the final installation.
The entire production is fully adapted to individual needs.

ENVIRONMENT

In response to increasing international market competition by improving customer satisfaction and loyalty, and streamlining internal production processes, the Professor obtained ISO 9001: 2008 certification in 2012. Adopting a quality management system is a strategic decision for the Professor, enabling more concrete business goals. In a world constantly seeking quality and increasingly sensitive to ecological issues, the Professor focuses on maximum experience in designing and manufacturing office furniture with respect for the environment. Starting from carefully selected raw materials, through the entire processing and packaging process, to disposal, everything aims to protect health and save energy.

As a result, the Professor uses certified E1 boards in accordance with European regulations on formaldehyde emissions for both raw materials and laminates.
Each panel is then marked by the Eco Panel Consortium, ensuring that semi-finished products are produced through the reuse of wood in the manufacturing process, which does not involve tree felling.

Obtaining the ISO 14001: 2004 certificate in 2012 confirms the Professor’s commitment to establishing their own environmental management system, regulating the impact of production activities on the environment, and striving for continuous improvement. In 2015, during the same period as the company's twenty-year anniversary, the Professor introduced a new green logo to confirm and identify their commitment to sustainable environmental development as an integral part of their operations and growth process. In 2017, the company reaffirmed its “eco-friendly” strategy, emphasizing its values of “sustainability” and “responsibility,” and switched to a new electricity provider (Dolomiti Energia) that sources 100% from renewable sources.

ECO PACKAGING

The Professor continues its commitment to a manufacturing system capable of minimizing environmental impact. In 2016, the Professor invested in a modern packaging machinery park using biodegradable cardboard, enabling tailored training in packaging. Optimization tailored to specific products allows for significant reductions in packaging costs, storage, and consequently waste disposal. To improve waste management, several separate collection points for post-production waste were established. All waste is stored in special containers, then subjected to recycling processes.

CERTIFICATIONS

Demonstrating a commitment to quality, the Professor obtained the UNI EN ISO 9001: 2015 certification and adheres to international standards in design, development, production, and customer service.
