Description
Amelia Augustyn (born in 1989) earned a Diploma in Painting (with distinction) from the Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa (currently the University of Humanities and Natural Sciences), in the studio of Dr. habil. Włodzimierz Kulej, Prof. UJD, and Dariusz Słota. Since 2016, she has been a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Sculptors of the Częstochowa District. She mainly works in easel painting and drawing. “In the Sky” is an abstract painting, created spontaneously and expressively. This method of composition harks back to the European tradition of the 1950s (Informel). The dynamic form and intense color of the work will enliven any interior. Due to its small size, it is recommended to hang the painting in a medium or small space (so it does not get “lost” on an empty, large wall). The work measures 30 x 25 x 1.5 cm. It uses mixed media (acrylic paint and enamel) on cotton canvas. Its edges are painted over, allowing for an aesthetic display without the need for framing. The abstraction is signed and dated on the front in the lower left corner: A. Augustyn 2019.
