Description
"Winter Abstraction" is a painting by Amelia Augustyn — an artist associated with Częstochowa, where she graduated in Painting from the Jan Długosz University (formerly the University of Humanities and Natural Sciences). She received her diploma in 2014 (with distinction) in the studio of Dr. habil. Włodzimierz Kulej, Prof. UJD, and Dariusz Słota (with an annex in drawing). Since 2016, she has been a member of the Association of Polish Visual Artists of the Częstochowa District. "Winter Abstraction" is a work from 2019; it is part of a broad series of small, expressive compositions. Like most of her recent works, it was created using mixed media (featuring acrylics, oils, and enamels). The cycle is, in many ways, a historical reference to movements such as Informel. The "Winter Abstraction" is applied on a lightweight, cotton canvas measuring 30 x 25 x 1.5 cm. Its edges have been aesthetically painted; framing is at the discretion of the buyer. The painting features a characteristic signature in the lower left corner (A. Augustyn).
