Abstract painting on canvas, 30x25 cm - Amelia Augustyn

"Winter Abstraction" is a painting by Amelia Augustyn — an artist associated with Częstochowa, where she graduated in Painting from the Jan Długosz University (formerly the Academy of Jan Długosz). She received her diploma in 2014 (with distinction) in the studio of Dr. habil. Włodzimierz Kulej, Prof. UJD, and Dariusz Słota (drawing annex). Since 2016, she has been a member of the Association of Polish Visual Artists of the Częstochowa District. "Winter Abstraction" is a work from 2019; it is part of a broad series of small, expressive compositions. Like most of her recent works, it was created using mixed media (featuring acrylic, oil paints, and enamel). The cycle is, in many ways, a historical reference to movements such as Informel. The "Winter Abstraction" is applied on a lightweight, cotton canvas measuring 30 x 25 x 1.5 cm. Its edges have been aesthetically painted; any framing is at the discretion of the buyer. The painting features a characteristic signature in the lower left corner (A. Augustyn).
