Manufaktura Coltelleri Saladini produces kitchen knives with forged blades. Each blade features an engraved manufacturer’s logo — a confirmation of authenticity and a quality guarantee. The marking is done during the craft process, before the blade is hardened.

Saladini is very selective in choosing steel — mainly high-quality hardened stainless steel with high or 100% carbon content.

The main processes used for producing Saladini blades are quenching and forging.

Quenching is used to create knife blades, cigar cutters, and certain lines of table knives. These blades are cut from steel sheets, with thickness depending on the intended use of the knife.

The most complex manufacturing process involves forging blades with a hammer and anvil, used for kitchen, table, and collector’s knives. Hand forging allows for creating precise shapes of blades, bolsters, and tips, which are then inserted into the handle.

After tempering, both types of blades undergo hardening and annealing in heat treatment, which, depending on the steel composition, determines the proper hardness for an optimal cutting edge.
