The times we live in are characterized by increased consumption. As a result, the items we use every day are valued only for their utility. Each year, we often part with the sentimentality they once held, replacing them with newer models.
The philosophy of Berti Knives, a brand producing exceptional knives for various purposes, differs from this trend. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop appears to be entirely independent of the trends that have dominated the world throughout its history. Its core value is fidelity to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The founders of the brand strongly reject the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of the identity of their knives. For this reason, their manufacturing philosophy places great emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to change. Any changes are highly welcomed, provided they do not conflict with the existing vision and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized groups of artisans; instead, they are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The best quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, and handles are made from materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, or 'bosso' wood.
