The times we live in are characterized by increased consumption. As a result, the items we use every day are valued only for their utility. Each year, we often part with the sentimentality they once held, replacing them with newer models.
The philosophy of Berti Knives, a brand producing exceptional knives for various purposes, differs from this approach. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family manufactory appears to be completely autonomous from the trends that have dominated the world over the years. Its core value is fidelity to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The founders firmly reject the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the offered knives. Therefore, their company's philosophy places great emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to change. Any changes are highly welcomed, provided they do not conflict with the existing vision and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife manufacturing are not performed by specialized groups of artisans, but are often carried out from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, and handles include materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, or 'bosso' wood.
