For years, we have searched global chess auctions for classic, very large tournament or academic chess sets. To no avail. Finally, we asked our master sculptor to craft the pieces exactly as they were recorded for original 19th-century tournaments. Which, of course, is a Staunton set, defined by their majestic king and queen, and inspired knights!
