The Hermle family business has its roots in Gosheim in the Swabian Jura. The headquarters is located in nearby Reichenbach. This region was once a center of German clockmaking industry and is still known for its spirit of innovation and hard work.

The traditional precision brand sells high-quality grandfather clocks, wall clocks, mantel clocks, ship’s clocks, and regulators. Additionally, Hermle has been specializing in the production of high-quality turning parts for over 50 years – this is a key advantage, as almost all individual components of clock mechanisms are produced in the company's own turning shop. All products are highly popular worldwide and are considered excellent examples of German watchmaking quality.

The Hermle skeleton movement, driven by quartz, features astronomical indications with an astrolabe at the top, complementing the display of hours and minutes. The Sun, Moon, and Earth are moved by a gear train visible at the top during their daily, monthly (Moon around Earth), and annual (Earth around the Sun) rotations in a realistic time sequence. The positions of the date and month are shown as zodiac signs on the upper level of the display, on a decorative scale integrated into the clock’s horizontal plate.

The clock shows the Earth's orbit around the Sun once a year, with the Earth rotating on its axis once every 24 hours. At the same time, the Moon orbits the Earth once every 29 and a half days, rotating once on its own axis so that different lunar phases can be observed from Earth. The Earth passes through 12 zodiac signs, months, and days, which can be read from a flat, cylindrical dial. The time sequences are displayed identically, but not in geometric dimensions.

Glass bell: The crystal bell is mouth-blown, following traditional craftsmanship. Due to this manual production method, minor irregularities and imperfections are inevitable and characteristic.
