This artistic venture was born from the imagination of Giampaolo Barbin. He brought with him the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, associated with Murano glassmaking.

The Barbin family is one of the well-known medieval families. These glassmakers have left their mark on the island of Murano since the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by decree of the Council of Ten, the Barbin family was included in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, their coat of arms was granted at that time – featuring two bearded sages looking at each other with a star above their heads on a blue background – which can still be seen today in the Glass Museum on Murano island.
