Ikunico has been in existence since 2017, when the owner opened his own artisan workshop dedicated to leather processing, continuing his father Giuseppe's family tradition. The founder's workshop is located in Gubbio in Umbria, a stone city where time seems to have stood still. All products are made from genuine Italian vegetable-tanned leather, certified and guaranteed to originate from Italy. The exceptionally high-quality leather and acid-free paper, also handcrafted by the master papermakers of Fabriano, embody the essence of a premium brand.

The city itself and the shop share and shape the same spirit of place, composed of light, materials, colors, and scents that are very unique. Unrepeatable and one-of-a-kind, just like the products created by the maker. The light, tempered like a sword, bright and pure, reflects in the clean lines of the city’s buildings. Curved and slanted, it carries the passage of time, flowing with the density of warm and lively leather.

Behind and beyond them lie the silence of the mountains, which on seasonal plots light up with vivid shades of red and brown, imbued with the scent of earth. These are the same colors and scents that form the substance of leather goods. The simple and elegant spirit of Gubbio, an ancient city of art and craftsmanship, a place of classical excellence, elevates objects with greater value. THE BEST RAW MATERIALS

All premium products are made from certified and guaranteed genuine Italian leather, tanned exclusively with natural plant-based tannins. This process requires patience and experience, entrusted to skilled tanners from a consortium of authentic Italian vegetable-tanned leathers. Natural leather for those seeking high quality and style. The interior is lined with acid-free lamellar paper or handmade paper by Fabriano Paper Masters, produced through a slow and labor-intensive process similar to that of over seven hundred years ago. Each piece is unique, with its own veins, tones, peculiarities, softness, and hardness—each with its own story, different from everything else.

Daily, the challenge is to bring objects and their uses to life through many stories that satisfy the heart and mind—beyond mere utility and hasty consumption.
