The philosophy of Berti Knives, a brand producing exceptional knives for various purposes, is different from this trend. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop seems to remain completely detached from the trends that have dominated the world throughout its history. Its core principle is fidelity to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of these skilled artisans.
The founders strongly oppose the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of their products. Therefore, their company's philosophy places special emphasis on the employed staff. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to innovations. They are very welcome, provided they do not conflict with the existing concept and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike others, the different stages of knife production are not handled by specialized sections of craftsmen, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
High-quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, while handles are made from materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, or 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that their products, although intended for everyday use, be treated with proper respect, which guarantees their durability for many years. Each one is a small, unique artifact.
