In complete contrast to this situation, the philosophy of Berti Knives is to produce exceptional knives for various uses. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family-owned manufactory seems to remain entirely detached from the trends that have dominated the world throughout its history. Its core principle is fidelity to tradition, which is now upheld by the fourth generation of these Italian artisans.
The founders of the brand strongly oppose the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity in the knives produced. Therefore, their company's philosophy emphasizes the importance of the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that the Italian family is closed to any innovations. They are very welcome, provided they align with the existing concept and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife creation are not handled by specialized groups of artisans but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
