The times we live in are marked by increased consumption. Therefore, the items we use every day have no value to us other than utility. Over the years, we often lose the attention they deserve, replacing them with newer models.
The philosophy of Berti Knives, a company producing exceptional knives for various uses, is different. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this family-run workshop seems completely independent of the trends that have prevailed worldwide over the years. Its key guiding principle is a commitment to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of these excellent craftsmen.
The founders of the brand strongly oppose the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the knives produced. For this reason, the philosophy of their workshop places great emphasis on the employed personnel. This does not mean, however, that this Italian family is closed to any changes. They are most welcome, provided they bring elements consistent with the existing philosophy and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized sections of craftsmen but are often carried out from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials - the blades are made of steel, while the handles are made from buffalo, bison, deer horns, and 'bosso' wood.
The brand owners encourage that their products, although intended for everyday use, be treated with the respect that guarantees their long-lasting durability. Each of them is, after all, a small, unique work of art.
