This extraordinary design was conceived by Giampaolo Barbin. He is the one who brought the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, associated with Murano glassmaking, into it.

The Barbin family is one of the renowned medieval families. These glassmakers left their mark on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by decree of the Council of Ten, the Barbin family was included in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, at that time, the family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men facing each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be viewed at the Glass Museum on the island of Murano.
