The Barbiní family is one of the distinguished medieval clans. They have left their mark on the Venetian island since the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by decree of the Council of Ten, the Barbiní family was inscribed in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most eminent glassmakers.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms — featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star above their heads on a blue background — which can still be seen at the Glass Museum on the island of Murano.
