The Barbini family is one of the outstanding medieval clans. They left their mark on the Venetian island as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by decree of the Consiglio dei Dieci, the Barbini family was inscribed in the Golden Book of Notable Murano Society, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms at that time – featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star above their heads on a blue background – which can still be seen at the Glass Museum on the island of Murano.
