This is an original set of seven Berti Knives. The handles are made from olive wood.
We live in times marked by increased consumption. Therefore, the items we use daily have no value to us other than functional. Over the years, we often do not show the proper sentiment towards them, replacing them with newer models.
Contrary to this situation, the philosophy of Berti Knives is based on producing exceptional knives for various purposes. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small manufactory appears to be completely autonomous from the trends that have dominated the world over the years. Its core principle is a strong attachment to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of Italian artisans.
The founders of the brand strongly oppose the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the offered products. For this reason, their company's philosophy emphasizes the importance of the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to innovations. They are very much desired, provided they bring elements consistent with the existing idea and are capable of passing long-term quality tests.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized artisan sections, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The best quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, while handles are made from materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, or 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that their products, although intended for everyday use, be treated with the proper respect, which guarantees their durability for many years. Each one is a small, unique work of art.
